Behler Publications is an independent publisher in Southern California.
We are currently concentrating on works of non-fiction personal journeys
with social relevance.
We will consider some fiction where the where the issues of a character's
personal introspection, conflict and resolution are the primary driving
forces propelling the story. These stories must have social relevancy.
Get It Write Series
Additionally, we seek topics that writers would find helpful during their
research phase - a one-stop research shopping for the writer. A few examples
are:
- Law
- Law Enforcement
- Fire Dept.
- Medical
We do not accept:
- Horror
- Mysteries
- Sci-fi/fantasy
- Young Adult
- Romance
- Westerns
- Short stories
- Previously published work
- Self help
- Poetry
Agents: Feel free to send us your nonfiction proposal. Please include:
- Synopsis, genre, estimated word count, full marketing strategy, and
comparative titles
Each query
must include the following:
- Title, genre, estimated word count - minimum 50,000 words (I'll consider
45,000, but it better be really great)
- Your first 30 pages - must be in one file - double-spaced, 12pt.
TNR
- Detailed one page synopsis
of your book - no chapter outlines
- Brief author biography, including any previous publications, or specific
background/qualifications relevant to your work
- For online submission, please submit your 30 pages as a Word (.doc)
